You will need to bring along good walking shoes, insect repellent, sun cream, water and a picnic lunch. We made our way downhill to the river bed and started walking "upstream". Depending on recent rainfall, there may be not much water to be seen. The terrain is sandy and easy underfoot suitable for walkers with average mobility. If you like a gentle walk, and like to see nature, this is perfect for you. You will see a wide variety of trees, grasses, sandy cliff faces, bird life, and wildflowers. It was interesting to see how the river has cut and carved its way through sandstone and rock to shape the floor and sides of the canyon. The Mesón Río Seco Restaurante is close by, serving a menu del día at 12 euros.
